Rotary Raises Over $100,000 at Annual Gala

ROTARY RAISES WELL OVER $100,000 AT ITS ROTARIAN STAR STUDDED GALA ON MARCH 12, 2022
SCHAUMBURG, IL (March 18, 2022) – The ROTARY CLUB OF SCHAUMBURG/ HOFFMAN ESTATES CELEBRATED club members who, through the years, had been awarded its top honor, Rotarian of the Year. Guests strolled down the Walk of Fame and learned why these dedicated individuals earned the coveted award.
Guests walked the red carpet and dodged papparazzi while raising desperately needed funds (over $150K) for the most vulnerable in the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates communities. Their GALA fundraiser on March 12th was attended by 250 guests who bought tickets to win $10,000 or four other money prizes, bid on a plethora of auction items, dance to the upbeat sounds of  high-energy Yazz Jazz, and learn about the powerful impact these Rotarians have brought forth during the past 50+ years. The engaging event was hosted by Natalie Martinez, NBC News Anchor, and Dr. Avis Proctor, Harper College President, served as Honorary Chair.
Event Chair Glenn Szurgot led a volunteer team of hard-working club members who planned and executed the action-packed gala. The live drawing of the cash prize winners culminated the fast-moving event.
This very active service club continues to provide much needed aide to help those suffering most from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic by providing hard-to-get personal protection equipment to frontline workers, feeding many hundreds of students, seniors, veterans, and frontline workers, assisting the hardest hit with economic aide, and awarding over $100,000 in academic and vocational scholarships.
Proud of its 50+ year philanthropic history, this Rotary Club has raised over $5 million for the Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates communities (including $250,000 for the Women’s & Children’s wing of the St. Alexius Hospital and $100,000 for the Children’s Home + Aid Society’s Schaumburg location), and contributed countless hours to local hands-on projects.
