GCAMP Manufacturing Workforce Success Series
The Greater Chicago Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (GCAMP) is hosting a series of meetings designed to further the connection between industry and education. The goal is to prepare local manufacturing companies that hire students, work with education, and find resources to upskill current employees to build their future workforce.
GCAMP will discuss some of the most challenging workforce issues and the importance of industrial credentials for students and incumbent workers. Please consider joining.
The events will be held at two different locations to offer more flexibility for businesses in the greater Chicago area. Meetings will be held in person only. The dates and locations for each session are as follows:

• March 17 - How to Find and Keep Your Future Workforce
• April 7 - Local Programs/Training & Resources - How can GCAMP help?

• Valley Industrial Association - 2000 S. Batavia Ave., Suite 110, Geneva, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CDBG-CV Small Business Recovery Grant Program
The Village of Schaumburg CDBG-CV Small Business Recovery Grant is now open to additional business types and contains revisions to the eligible use of funds.
To qualify for CDBG-CV funds, businesses must commit to retaining an agreed upon number of payroll hours for 1 year where at least 51 percent of those payroll hours, as computed on a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) basis, are held by low-to-moderate income individuals as defined by HUD. The application and required documents can be found here.
The approved uses of grant funds are as follows:
• Rent or mortgage up to three months not to exceed 50% of total grant award.
• Technology that improves customer experience, safety, pickup, and delivery platforms or website upgrades to allow for online ordering.
• Marketing campaigns - must have or will have a written marketing campaign plan or use funds to hire marketing firm.
• Workplace protective equipment used to respond to COVID-19 (masks, gloves, sanitizers, sneeze guards, partitions, etc.)
If you have a use that is not listed that would help you achieve the objective of this program, please contact us for consideration.
Applications will be reviewed and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are disbursed. There is currently $85,000 remaining in the program. Maximum award amounts are based on the total weekly payroll hours below:
• 20-39 Weekly Payroll Hours: $5,000
• 40-120 Weekly Payroll Hours: $10,000
• 121-240 Weekly Payroll Hours: $15,000
• 241+ Weekly Payroll Hours: $20,000
