Occasional cases of heartburn often can be remedied with over-the-counter medications, but there is an underlying health risk for frequent heartburn sufferers. Northwest Community Healthcare is hosting a free community health seminar for anyone who is interested in learning the facts about heartburn. Gastroenterologist Willis Parsons, MD, medical director of the NCH Gastroenterology Center who oversees the Center for Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, will present “Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) – Not Always a Benign Problem” starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
To learn more about heartburn, GERD and Barrett's esophagus, register for this free seminar by calling HealthConnection at 847.618.4YOU (4968), or visit www.nch.org/heartburn.
